(Caracas, June 14, 2026) Venezuelan leader María Corina Machado addressed the developments that took place this Sunday in Venezuela’s Guayana mining region. In a message shared on her social media platforms, she reflected on the changes the country has experienced since January 3, a date she described as the beginning of “a new chapter in our long march toward Venezuela’s freedom, made possible by the decisive action of President Trump and his administration.”

Among the achievements she said would have been unthinkable just months ago, Machado highlighted Nicolás Maduro’s removal to face justice, the gradual dismantling of the regime’s alliances with Russia, Iran, China, and Cuba, the release of political prisoners, both civilians and military personnel, and the expansion of civic space. “The media, civil society, and ordinary citizens are beginning to reclaim the spaces that were taken from us for years,” she said.

Machado placed particular emphasis on the beginning of the dismantling of armed groups and criminal organizations that, according to her, operated with complete impunity across vast areas of the country, including Tren de Aragua. “The human, social, environmental, and economic damage inflicted on Venezuela by these criminal organizations, which emerged under the protection of Chavismo and operated in complicity with the tyranny, is immeasurable,” she stated.

Machado also reiterated her gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump, whom she described as a decisive factor behind the recent developments. “All of these achievements would have been unimaginable six months ago,” she said, while calling on every Venezuelan to organize within their communities, defend the truth, expose criminal structures, and actively support the institutions that, in her view, are gradually being restored.

She concluded her message with a direct call for civic engagement: “Venezuela needs all of us active and committed to this process. With God’s guidance, until the end.”
