Las imágenes del ataque fÃsico a los asambleÃstas opositores en Caracas han dado la vuelta al mundo.
El régimen de facto de Venezuela acaba de agregar a su ilegitimidad, el uso de la violencia para acallar a la oposición. Ya no quedan dudas respecto al carácter dictatorial y violento de Nicolás Maduro y su gobierno y ya nada puede esperarse de ellos para recuperar la democracia.
Frente a esta hiriente realidad es imperdonable la complicidad- por acción u omisión- de los gobiernos del resto del mundo, y especialmente de América Latina, que asisten impasibles a esta violencia fÃsica e institucional, violando con esa indiferente actitud todos los acuerdos internacionales en defensa de la democracia del que son signatarios.

CALLS FOR ACTION FROM DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENTS TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION IN VENEZUELA
The images of physical attacks on the opposition’s Congress members in Caracas have circulated the world.
The regime in Venezuela has just added to its illegitimacy the use of violence to silence the opposition. There are no doubts about the dictatorial and violent nature of the Government of Nicolás Maduro and his henchmen, and nothing can be expected at this time for Democracy to survive.
Given this hurtful reality, it is inexcusable the complicity- either by action or failure to act-of Governments of the rest of the world, and especially from Latin America- by being impassive to this institutional and physical violence, they are infringing with their indifference all international agreements to which they are signatory to the defense of democracy.
